Mimosa is one Dufour’s new flagships yachts. The Dufour 560 Grand Large was released just one year after the previous flagship, the Dufour 500 GL. The new yacht continues the ground-breaking details of the 500 and improves on them in several ways.
The large cockpit has been split into two areas meaning those relaxing are never disturbed by the crew. The large folding transom provides a large sunbathing area as well as somewhere to dry off after swimming. As well as comfort this yacht has been designed to perform well under sail with innovations to minimise drag and improve sailing performance.
Inside Mimosa the segregation of areas continues. The main lounging area provides large sofas and a substantial table for dining. The galley is separated meaning those cooking aren’t working around anyone relaxing on the sofas.
There are three cabins, one large master cabin with a kingsized bed and two double guest cabins. All of the cabins are ensuite and the yacht is air-conditioned throughout. The skipper has a separate cabin, a hostess can be requested in addition to the skipper.
At the base you are required to provide an Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA), which is currently 20% of the charter price. APA is like a ‘boat kitty’ that covers the variable expenses relating to fuel, water, food, beverages, alcoholic drinks and port fees. It is used by the staff to make payments during the holiday without disturbing you. Any remaining APA will be returned at the end of the charter, equally if expenses incurred exceed the APA paid then the additional expense is requested at the end of the charter.
