Sailing holidays and great nightlife go hand in hand, with quayside bars and clubs providing fantastic locations at which sailors eat, drink and be merry. Here's our pick of the best sailing areas in the Mediterranean for those keen to let their hair down:
  •

    1. Dalmatian Islands, Croatia

There could really only be one winner. The Dalmatian Islands, and in particular the island of Hvar,  is the hottest ticket in town right now. Beach clubs, sunset clubs, late night clubs, after hours clubs and lots of scantily clad people... If you're after a good time then Croatia is where its at this summer!

  •

    2. Balearic Islands, Spain

An old favourite. The Balearic Islands, which include Majorca, Menorca and THE party island of Ibiza, retains its after dark status as a top club destination anywhere in Europe. Sail to and moor in Ibiza town and you'll find yourself on the doorstep of some of the biggest clubs in Europe. World famous, and still going strong.

  •

    3. Cyclades Islands, Greece

The Cyclades have the honour of being on the 'best nightlife' list, as well as the 'off the beaten track' list by virtue of some wonderfully diverse geography. The party islands are world famous - Mykonos, Ios and Santorini - but you can quickly get away to nearby hidden gems to catch up on your sleep. Remember it does get windy here!

  •

    4. Saronic Islands, Greece

The Saronics have several islands that attract a great mix of party people from around Europe. Poros, Hydra and Aegina all have a lively nightlife with bars and clubs to enjoy. Party at night and chill out during the day as you sail to your next port of call. Bliss.

  •

    5. Amalfi Coast, Italy

The nightlife on the Amalfi Coast tends to be in the 'high end' category. Famous around the world as a destination for celebrities, sport stars and the rich and famous. Amalfi entertains with its exclusive hotel bars and clubs, particularly in the stylish Positano and humming Sorrento.
