Nikiana Marina, Lefkada

Nikiana Marina is situated on the east coast of Lefkada, in the small seaside village of Nikiana between Lefkada Town and Nidri. The harbour has a relaxed, local feel, with a sheltered waterfront surrounded by green hills and the mountains of mainland Greece visible across the Ionian. Pebbly beaches sit close to the village, while tavernas, cafés and shops line the waterfront. Compared with the larger marinas at Lefkada Town, Nikiana is quieter and more intimate, making it a pleasant place to begin a catamaran holiday. Its sheltered harbour and convenient position on the island’s eastern coast are among its biggest advantages.

Nikiana makes a convenient base for exploring the central and southern Ionian, with the islands and mainland coastline around Lefkada particularly easy to reach. From the harbour, you can head south towards Nidri, Meganisi, Kastos and Kalamos, or continue further towards Ithaca and Kefalonia on a longer charter. The nearby mainland coast also offers attractive anchorages and small seaside villages. For a catamaran, the area works particularly well if you want to spend plenty of time swimming and relaxing at anchor, with numerous sheltered bays and relatively short passages between destinations. Aktion/Preveza Airport is around 30–40 minutes away by road, making Nikiana a practical alternative to Lefkada Town for crews flying in.

Nikiana Marina Facilities and Amenities

Nikiana has the practical facilities needed for charter changeovers, although they are on a smaller scale than those at Lefkas D-Marin. Water and electricity are available on the pier, while fuel can be arranged through a tanker service or at the nearby fuel station. A supermarket within the marina area and additional shops in the village make provisioning straightforward. There are also cafés and snack bars at the harbour, while several tavernas and restaurants are within easy walking distance. Showers, toilets and parking are available, with laundry services also provided. The village setting is useful on changeover days, as most everyday requirements can be dealt with without travelling into Lefkada Town.
