Marina di Portisco is an excellent starting point for exploring northeast Sardinia by catamaran. The Costa Smeralda is close by, with bays and beaches around Cala di Volpe, Liscia Ruja and the islands of Mortorio and Soffi providing attractive early stops. From there, you can continue north towards the La Maddalena Archipelago, where Caprera, Spargi, Budelli and Santa Maria offer a varied mix of anchorages and island scenery. Longer itineraries can also cross the Strait of Bonifacio towards southern Corsica, subject to your route and weather conditions. Olbia and its airport are around 15–20 km away, making Portisco relatively easy to reach for international arrivals. Its biggest advantage as a charter base is that the main cruising grounds are close at hand, so you can spend less time on an initial passage and more time exploring Sardinia’s coastline.
